Sensation Marc Marquez grabs 8th of pole the season at Sepang
The young MotoGP sensation Marc Marquez of Repsol Honda went on to grab another lap record breaking pole beating Valentino Rossi at Sepang, Malaysia.
The rookie who has been electrifying all through the season breaking record after record and also on his way to clinch the MotoGP title in his rookie year. Marc was suffering initially on a partly wet and tricky condition but put on a stellar performance at the last minute to deny pole to the 7time world champion Valentino Rossi who too was on a roll today on his M1 and grabbed best ever qualifying result since 2010.
Rossi was on fire on the last stint of qualifying as he was clocking fastest sector times but was struck behind compatriot Dovizioso in the last few corners but even though went into provisional pole just missing the lap record only to be beaten by Marquez after few seconds.
Crutchlow was looking as if he was faster the Rossi in the initial stages managed to get into the front row beating Lorenzo and Pedrosa.
World Champion Lorenzo avoided a crash on turn 6 during his outlap on the slicks and came into the pits immediately to venture out when the track is clear. He came out for his second run and set an immediate fastest time with a provisional pole only to be beaten team mate Rossi and then Marquez.
Dani Pedrosa who was on top on all three practice session somehow missed the trick in the qualifying. Bautista joins Lorenzo and Pedrosa on second row while LCR Honda rider Stefan Bradl crashed out in FP4 breaking his ankle getting ruled out of the race.
Bradley smith came in 7th ahead of the Ducati of Andrea Dovizioso. Iannone completed the top 10 ahead of Nicky Hayden.
